What happened

Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to the Tenant growing over 100 marijuana plants in the rental unit without a permit, causing undue damage to the rental unit and the residential complex, and committing an illegal act.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated, and the Tenant must move out by June 9, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $1,800 for the cost of repairing the damage and $186 for the cost of filing the application, for a total of $1,986. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by June 9, 2021, the Tenant will start owing interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
