What happened

Tenants applied for an order determining that the Landlord failed to meet the Landlord's maintenance obligations under the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006 or failed to comply with health, safety, housing or maintenance standards. The Tenants claimed there was a mouse infestation in the rental unit.

The ruling

The Landlord is ordered to pay the Tenants $45.00 for the cost of filing the application, as the Tenants were successful in showing the Landlord breached their section 20 obligations. However, the breach was not severe enough to justify termination of the tenancy as requested by the Tenants.
