What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant because the Landlord in good faith requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation for at least one year, and the Tenant has been persistently late in paying rent. The Tenant requested a review of the order and that the order be stayed until the request to review the order is resolved.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective June 30, 2023. The Tenant must move out by that date. If the unit is not vacated by June 30, 2023, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office (Sheriff) to enforce the eviction starting July 1, 2023. The Tenant owes the Landlord $4,107.40, which includes compensation for use of the unit and application filing costs. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by June 30, 2023, the Tenant will owe interest starting July 1, 2023 at 6% annually on the outstanding balance.
