What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenants to pay the rent that they owed. The Tenants had vacated the rental unit on February 22, 2022, prior to the hearing date.

The ruling

The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $12,726.12, which includes rent arrears up to the date the Tenant vacated the rental unit and the cost of the application, minus the rent deposit and interest owed to the Tenant. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by September 5, 2022, they will start owing simple interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
