What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent as per the mediated settlement issued by the Board on February 26, 2020.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective August 17, 2020. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $6,380.68, which includes rent arrears up to March 31, 2020 and the costs related to the previous application, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenants must also pay $70.68 per day for compensation for use of the unit from April 1, 2020 until they move out. If the full amount is not paid by August 17, 2020, the Tenants will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
