What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to the Landlord's need for personal use of the rental unit. The Landlord also claimed compensation for each day the Tenant remained in the unit after the termination date and for damages to the rental unit.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective February 14, 2020. The Tenant must move out by October 15, 2021. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $38,135 for use of the unit from February 15, 2020 to September 16, 2021, and an additional $65.75 per day from September 17, 2021 until the Tenant moves out. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by October 15, 2021, the Tenant will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
