What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to serious impairment of safety and wilful damage to the premises. The Landlord also claimed compensation for each day the Tenants remained in the unit after the termination date.
The ruling
The Tenants shall pay the Landlord $2,572.30 for the reasonable costs of repairing the damage, and an additional $186.00 for the cost of filing the application, for a total of $2,750.30. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by September 29, 2022, they will start to owe simple interest at 3.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
