What happened

Tenants applied for an order determining that Landlords failed to meet their maintenance obligations under the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006, including issues with mice and bed bug infestations, roof leak, malfunctioning washer and dryer, and lack of heat.

The ruling

The Landlords are ordered to pay the Tenant a rent abatement of $1,800 and the $45 application fee, for a total of $1,845, by March 5, 2021. If the Landlords do not pay by the due date, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
