What happened
The Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to the Tenant's failure to meet the conditions specified in a previous order issued by the Board. The Tenant failed to pay $1,500 towards the arrears by December 20, 2021 and failed to pay the full lawful monthly rent by January 1, 2022.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective February 4, 2022. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $8,798.49, which includes the outstanding rent arrears, application fee, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenant must also pay $75.62 per day in compensation for use of the unit starting January 25, 2022 until the Tenant vacates. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by February 4, 2022, the Tenant will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
