What happened

Tenant filed an application alleging that the Landlord failed to meet maintenance obligations and entered the rental unit illegally. The application was resolved by an order issued on December 18, 2014. The Tenant later requested a review of the order to determine whether K.B. should be named as a Landlord.

The ruling

The Board found that K.B. was the real Landlord of the property, despite the property being owned by a numbered company she controlled. The Board found that K.B. acted in bad faith by transferring the property to herself to avoid her responsibilities under the Residential Tenancies Act. The Board varied the previous order to include K.B. as a Landlord.
