What happened

Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy because the Tenant abandoned the unit. The Landlords noticed the Tenant's mailbox was overflowing and observed the Tenant removing most of his property in mid-February 2021. The Tenant never returned to the residence and did not pay rent for February and March 2021.

The ruling

The tenancy between the Landlords and the Tenant is terminated as of February 15, 2021. The Tenant shall pay the Landlords $201.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by October 16, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
