What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent as per the previous order issued by the Board on December 31, 2021.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective March 8, 2022. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $5,537.67, which includes rent arrears up to February 25, 2022 and the costs related to the previous application, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenants must also pay $69.04 per day in compensation for use of the unit starting February 26, 2022 until they vacate. If the full amount is not paid by March 8, 2022, the Tenants will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
