What happened
Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after serving a valid Notice of Termination effective February 7, 2020, which the Tenant did not void by paying the arrears. The Tenant had not paid the full rent from July 1, 2018 to May 31, 2021.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective June 15, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlords $33,916.77 in rent arrears and compensation, plus $49.32 per day for each day of occupation starting June 5, 2021 until the Tenant moves out. The Tenant must also pay $175 for the application filing fee. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by June 15, 2021, the Tenant will owe interest and the Landlords can file the order for eviction.
