What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant failed to pay rent from July 1, 2021 to January 31, 2022. The Landlord served a Notice of Termination effective August 24, 2021. The Tenant was not present at the hearing.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective January 31, 2022, unless the Tenant voids the order by paying $2,341.59 on or before that date. The Tenant must pay $652.65 in rent arrears, $186.00 for application costs, and $121.04 per day starting January 19, 2022, for compensation. If the unit is not vacated by January 31, 2022, the Landlord may file for eviction enforcement starting February 1, 2022.
