What happened
Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to Tenant's failure to pay rent arrears of $17,500 by the deadline specified in a previous order. The Tenant had not met this condition.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective March 30, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlords $41,408.86, which includes the remaining rent arrears, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by March 30, 2021, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance starting March 31, 2021. If the unit is not vacated by March 30, 2021, the Landlords can file the order with the Sheriff to enforce the eviction.
