What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to their substantial interference with the reasonable enjoyment of the Landlord or another tenant. The Landlord also claimed compensation for each day the Tenants remained in the unit after the termination date.
The ruling
The tenancy between the Landlord and the Tenants is terminated, effective January 19, 2022. The Tenants must move out of the rental unit on or before January 20, 2022. The Tenants shall pay the Landlord $2,598.50 for use of the unit from December 10, 2020 to October 1, 2021, and $45.86 per day for use of the unit from January 19, 2022 to the date they move out. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by January 19, 2022, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
