What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because the Tenant had abandoned the rental unit. The Landlord testified that the Tenant had not been at the unit since August 2021 and had not paid any rent to the Landlord.

The ruling

The tenancy was terminated effective January 12, 2022, the date the Tenant abandoned the rental unit. The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $186.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by August 2, 2022, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
