What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Landlord also claimed administration charges related to NSF cheques. The Tenant did not attend the hearing.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective January 31, 2022, unless the Tenant voids the order by paying $5,638.52 on or before that date. The Tenant must pay $2,899.06 for rent arrears and NSF charges, plus $48.58 per day from January 8, 2022, until move-out. The Tenant must also pay $186.00 for the application filing fee. If full payment is not made by January 31, 2022, the Landlord may file for eviction enforcement starting February 1, 2022.
