What happened
Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenants to pay the rent they owed. The Tenants were in possession of the rental unit on the date the application was filed, but did not pay the total rent they were required to pay for the period from November 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019.
The ruling
The Tenants shall pay to the Landlord $4,800.00, which represents the amount of rent owing up to December 31, 2019, and $190.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenants do not pay the Landlord the full amount owing on or before August 17, 2020, the Tenants will start to owe interest at a rate of 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
