What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenants to pay the rent they owed. The Tenants were in possession of the rental unit on the date the application was filed but did not pay the total rent they were required to pay for September 2021. The Tenants vacated the rental unit on September 21, 2021 and made no payments since the application was filed.

The ruling

The Tenants shall pay the Landlord $1,242.73 in rent arrears up to September 21, 2021, and $201.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the full amount is not paid by February 25, 2022, the Tenants will owe simple interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
