What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenants to pay the rent they owed. The Tenants were in possession of the rental unit when the application was filed and had not paid the full rent for the period from July 1, 2021 to September 30, 2021. Additional rent also came due for October and November 2021. The Tenants vacated the unit on November 11, 2021 and made no payments since the application was filed.

The ruling

The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $9,595.61 in rent arrears and $201.00 for the application filing fee. If the full amount is not paid by February 25, 2022, the Tenants will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
