What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant did not attend the hearing despite proper notice. The Landlord served a valid N4 Notice, which the Tenant did not void by paying the arrears.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated unless the Tenant voids the order by paying the specified amount. The Tenant must pay $4,977.56 to the Landlord, which includes rent arrears and application filing fee. The Tenant must also pay $20.35 per day for use of the unit from March 14, 2023, until move-out. If not vacated by April 30, 2023, the Landlord may file for eviction enforcement starting May 1, 2023.
