What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after serving a valid Notice of Termination, which the Tenant did not void by paying the arrears. The Tenant had not vacated the rental unit as of the hearing date.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective October 23, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $544.18 in rent arrears and compensation, $186.00 for the application fee, and $2.79 per day in compensation starting October 13, 2021 until the Tenant vacates the unit. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by October 23, 2021, the Tenant will owe interest and the Landlord can file the order with the Sheriff to enforce the eviction.
