What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant was in possession of the rental unit on the date the application was filed and had not paid rent for the period from April 1, 2021 to May 31, 2021. The Tenant paid all arrears for the period ending August 31, 2021 after the application was filed, but the only outstanding amount was the Landlord's cost of filing the application.

The ruling

The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $186.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by September 30, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
