What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants because the Landlord has entered into an agreement of purchase and sale of the rental unit and the purchaser requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation.
The ruling
The tenancy terminated effective August 30, 2021. The Landlord shall pay to the Tenants the sum of $2500.00, which represents the last month's rent deposit, and the Landlord shall pay to the Tenants interest owing on the last month's rent deposit for the period from March 1, 2018 to May 31, 2021. The Landlord shall pay the Tenants the full amount by August 30, 2021. If the Landlord does not pay the Tenants the full amount owing by August 20, 2021, the Landlord will owe interest on the outstanding balance.
