What happened
Landlords applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant to do major repairs and renovations to the rental unit. The Landlords served an N13 Notice and obtained a building permit, but the Tenant argued the Landlords failed to satisfy the technical requirements of the Act and served the N13 in bad faith.
The ruling
The Landlords' application is dismissed. The Tenant must pay the Landlords $2,100 by February 28, 2022, which is the amount the Landlords paid in compensation to the Tenant.
