What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to meet conditions specified in a previous order (TSL-20941-21) issued on July 21, 2021. The Tenant failed to pay $1000 towards arrears by December 20, 2021, and failed to pay the full lawful monthly rent by January 1, 2022.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective January 31, 2022. The Tenant must pay $9,392.19 to the Landlord, plus $65.75 per day starting January 21, 2022, until the unit is vacated. This amount includes rent arrears, previous application fee, less rent deposit and interest. If not paid by January 31, 2022, interest will accrue at 2% annually. The Landlord may file for eviction enforcement starting February 1, 2022, if the unit is not vacated.
