What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to persistent late payment of rent. The Tenant was not present or represented at the hearing.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated, and the Tenant must move out by September 26, 2021. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $2,262.81, which represents compensation for use of the unit from June 1, 2021 to September 15, 2021, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenant shall also pay $29.93 per day for compensation for use of the unit from September 16, 2021 until the move-out date, as well as $186.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by September 26, 2021, they will owe interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
