What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to the Tenant, another occupant, or someone the Tenant permitted in the residential complex wilfully or negligently causing undue damage to the premises. The Landlord also applied for an order requiring the Tenant to compensate the Landlord for the damage and claimed compensation for each day the Tenant remained in the unit after the termination date.

The ruling

The tenancy between the Landlord and Tenant is terminated, and the Tenant must move out by January 31, 2022. If the unit is not vacated by that date, the Landlord may file the order with the Sheriff for eviction. The Tenant owes $18.21 per day compensation for use of the unit starting February 1, 2022 until move-out. The Landlord waives $1,352.95 in damages and shall refund the Tenant $554.00 for last month's rent deposit and $32.67 interest, totaling $586.67, by January 21, 2022.
