What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy because Tenants abandoned the rental unit. The Tenants had not been seen or heard from since February 2021, and had not paid rent since January 2021.

The ruling

The tenancy between the Landlord and the Tenants is terminated as of February 9, 2021 as the Tenants have abandoned the rental unit. The Tenants shall pay the Landlord $186.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by July 5, 2021, they will start to owe simple interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
