What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenants to pay the rent they owed. The Tenants had vacated the rental unit on December 31, 2019, but were in possession of the unit on the date the application was filed.

The ruling

The Tenants shall pay the Landlord $800, which represents the rent owing up to December 31, 2019 plus the application filing fee, less the amount waived by the Landlord. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by March 1, 2021, they will start owing interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
