What happened

Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to the Tenant, another occupant, or someone the Tenant permitted, wilfully or negligently causing undue damage to the premises. The Landlords also applied for an order requiring the Tenant to compensate them for the damage.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective July 3, 2021. The Tenant shall vacate the unit on or before that date. The Tenant shall pay the Landlords $4,186.00, which represents the reasonable costs of repairing damage to the premises and the Landlords' filing fee. The Tenant shall also pay the Landlords $52.60 per day for compensation for the use of the unit from July 4, 2021 to the date the Tenant moves out of the unit. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owing on or before July 3, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
