What happened

Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to undue damage to the rental unit and residential complex, substantial interference with the Landlord's or another tenant's reasonable enjoyment, and overcrowding. The Landlord provided evidence of the Tenant's failure to maintain the rental unit in a state of ordinary cleanliness, causing damage to walls, kitchen, bathroom, and flooring.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective January 16, 2022. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $3,000 for the cost of repairing the damage to the rental unit, and $186 for the application filing fee. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by January 16, 2022, interest will start accruing at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
