What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because the Landlord requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation by his son.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective April 22, 2021. The Tenant must vacate the rental unit by that date. The Tenant owes the Landlord $9,389.10 for unpaid rent from May 2020 to March 2021, and an additional $92.05 per day from April 1, 2021 until the Tenant vacates. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owed by April 22, 2021, the Tenant will start owing interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
