Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The Landlord also claimed administration charges related to NSF cheques.

The ruling

The tenancy between the Landlord and Tenants is terminated as of May 9, 2020. The Tenants shall pay the Landlord $16,051.83, which represents the rent arrears up to May 9, 2020 and the NSF cheque charges, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenants shall also pay the Landlord $175.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the full amount is not paid by September 20, 2020, the Tenants will owe simple interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
