What happened
Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to the Tenant or another occupant of the rental unit committing an illegal act or carrying out, or permitting someone to carry out an illegal trade, business or occupation in the rental unit or the residential complex.
The ruling
The tenancy between the Landlords and the Tenants is terminated as of May 12, 2022, the date the Tenants moved out of the rental unit. The Tenants shall pay the Landlords $2,244.92, which represents compensation for the use of the unit from December 16, 2021 to May 12, 2022, less the last month's rent deposit and monies paid to the Landlords during the period of December 16, 2021 to May 15, 2021. The Tenants shall also pay the Landlords $186.00 for the cost of filing the application. The total amount the Tenants owe to the Landlords is $2,430.92. If the Tenants do not pay the Landlords the full amount owing on or before October 25, 2022, the Tenants will start to owe interest at 4.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
