What happened

Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to non-payment of rent. The Landlords served a Notice of Termination effective September 23, 2021. The Tenants failed to pay the total rent required for the period from August 1, 2021, to January 31, 2022.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective February 28, 2022, unless the Tenants void the order by paying the specified amounts. The Tenants must pay $5,764.73 for rent arrears and compensation up to January 28, 2022, plus $41.10 per day from January 29, 2022, until they move out. The Tenants must also pay $201.00 for the application filing cost. If full payment is not made by February 28, 2022, the Landlords may file for eviction enforcement starting March 1, 2022.
