What happened
Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenants to pay rent arrears and to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenants because the Landlord requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation.
The ruling
The Tribunal ordered the Tenants to pay $9,280 in rent arrears and $190 in application fees to the Landlord by September 20, 2020. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by the due date, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance. The tenancy was terminated effective September 30, 2020, and the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office (Sheriff) to enforce the eviction if the Tenants do not vacate by that date.
