What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to persistent late payment of rent. The Tenants had paid rent late 12 out of the last 12 months and did not make any rent payments from May 2021 to August 2021.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective August 24, 2021. The Tenants must vacate the rental unit by that date. The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $186 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount owed by August 24, 2021, they will start accruing interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
