What happened
Landlords applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to non-payment of rent and because the Landlords entered into an agreement of purchase and sale of the rental unit and the purchaser requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation.
The ruling
The tenancy between the Landlords and the Tenant is terminated as of December 6, 2020, the date the Tenant gave vacant possession of the rental unit to the Landlords. The Tenant shall pay to the Landlords $1,780.30, which represents the amount of rent owing and compensation up to December 6, 2020, less the rent deposit. The Tenant shall also pay to the Landlords $201.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the Landlords the full amount owing on or before September 25, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
