What happened

The Tenant applied for an order to determine whether the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006 applies to his relationship with the Landlord. The Landlord also submitted an application for the Board to determine whether the Act applies to its relationship with the Tenant. The Tenant also applied for orders regarding illegal rent and substantial interference/harassment.

The ruling

The Residential Tenancies Act, 2006 applies to the relationship between the parties. The hearing on the Tenant's T1 and T2 applications will be adjourned to a future date.
