What happened

Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to persistent late payment of rent. The Tenant is a single mother with two young daughters who have lived in the unit their entire lives and are undergoing therapy due to past abuse.

The ruling

The Adjudicator decided to give the Tenant an opportunity to continue the tenancy, subject to the condition that the Tenant pays the lawful rent for August 2015 by August 10, 2015 and pays the lawful rent on the 1st of each month from September 2015 to March 2016. If the Tenant fails to make these payments, the Landlord may apply to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant.
