What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenant to pay the rent owed. The hearing proceeded with only the Landlord's evidence as the Tenant did not attend.

The ruling

The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $2,122.68, which includes rent arrears up to August 31, 2022, and the cost of the application, minus the rent deposit and interest owing. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by April 10, 2023, they will start to owe interest at 5.00% annually on the outstanding balance from April 11, 2023.
