What happened

Tenant applied for an order determining that Landlord harassed, obstructed, coerced, threatened or interfered with the Tenant and substantially interfered with the reasonable enjoyment of the rental unit or residential complex by the Tenant or by a member of the Tenant's household.

The ruling

The Landlord is ordered to pay the Tenant $750 in general damages for the shame, embarrassment and mental anguish suffered by the Tenant as a result of the Landlord's harassment. The Landlord must pay the full amount owing by October 15, 2016, after which the Tenant will be owed simple interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
