What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The Tenants stated that COVID-19 had significantly impacted their income, but they had started working again and expected to receive money from a property sale to pay the arrears by the end of June 2021.
The ruling
The Landlord's application was granted, but the Tenants were granted relief from eviction subject to the condition that they pay the full June 2021 rent by June 9, 2021 and pay the $12,892.00 in rent arrears and costs by June 30, 2021. If the Tenants fail to make any of the payments, the Landlord can apply for an order terminating the tenancy and evicting the Tenants.
