What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant failed to pay the total rent required from September 1, 2021 to January 31, 2022. The Landlord served a Notice of Termination effective September 29, 2021. The Tenant paid $2,700.00 after the application was filed but still had outstanding arrears.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective March 6, 2022, unless the Tenant voids the order by paying the specified amounts. The Tenant must pay $2,507.81 for rent arrears and compensation up to February 23, 2022, plus $29.59 per day from February 24, 2022, until move-out. The Tenant must also pay $186.00 for the application filing cost. If full payment is not made by March 6, 2022, the Landlord may file for eviction enforcement starting March 7, 2022.
