What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to the Tenants, another occupant of the rental unit or someone the Tenants permitted in the residential complex has willfully or negligently caused undue damage to the premises. The Landlord also claimed compensation for each day the Tenant remained in the unit after the termination date.

The ruling

The tenancy was terminated effective February 10, 2022, the date the tenants vacated the rental unit. The tenants are ordered to pay $4,773.09 to the landlord, which includes $3,216.65 for damages to the unit and $1,557.99 for use of the unit from December 2, 2021 to February 10, 2022, less the $1,200 rent deposit and $5.02 interest owed to the tenants.
