What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent as per the mediated settlement issued by the Board on March 6, 2020 with respect to a previous application.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective August 16, 2020. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $4,554 representing rent arrears up to May 31, 2020 and costs related to the previous application, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenant must also pay $54.09 per day for compensation for use of the unit from June 1, 2020 until the Tenant vacates. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by August 16, 2020, the Tenant will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
