What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Tenant has not paid the total rent the Tenant was required to pay for the period from May 1, 2020 to July 31, 2020. The Landlord served a Notice of Termination due to the rent arrears.

The ruling

The tenancy was terminated effective July 31, 2020, the date the Tenant vacated the rental unit. The Tenant is ordered to pay $1,858.63 to the Landlord, which includes rent arrears up to the move-out date and the cost of filing the application, less the rent deposit and interest on the deposit.
