What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because the Landlord has entered into an agreement of purchase and sale of the rental unit and the purchaser requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective April 15, 2021. The Tenant must vacate the unit by that date. If the Tenant does not vacate, the Landlord can file the order with the sheriff to enforce the eviction, even if the eviction moratorium is still in effect. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $175 for the application fee.
